On 9 February 2026, a full‑day technical meeting took place at the Research Centre Řež between experts from the Japanese JCAMP team, representing the University of Tokyo, Mitsubishi Research Institute and Kajima Corporation, and specialists from CVR. The meeting focused on the coordination of activities within the JFY2025–2027 programme, aimed at assessing radiation effects on concrete structures in Japanese nuclear power plants.
The discussions primarily addressed methodologies for microstructural analyses of irradiated concrete materials. Further topics included new possibilities in ultrasonic testing, the application of helium pycnometry, handling of highly radioactive samples, and additional experimental approaches that expand the scope of the joint research activities.
The meeting also opened opportunities for further development of experimental cooperation and closer technical coordination between the participating institutions. This project further strengthens the long‑term partnership between the Research Centre Řež and key Japanese organisations in the field of materials research for nuclear energy, contributing to the advancement of international collaboration in this area.
