The TREASURE GFR Summer School is an educational event designed for students and young professionals interested in gas-cooled fast reactor (GFR) technology and other advanced nuclear systems. Its goal is to share knowledge, strengthen capacities, and prepare a new generation of specialists in innovative energy technologies. Over three days, participants will learn about the principles of fast reactors, GFR technology, and the challenges this field faces. The program includes expert lectures, technical tours of CVŘ research facilities, practical exercises in Pilsen at the S-Allegro facility, and social events to encouraging networking and knowledge exchange. Discussions will also cover advanced materials, nuclear safety, and future energy technologies. Participation is free of charge, but travel, accommodation, and visa costs must be covered by the participant or their institution.
The TREASURE project is a European research and innovation initiative that connects developers of the GFR demonstrator with organizations experienced in GFR and HTR research. Its aim is to support the development of GFR technology as part of advanced nuclear systems, facilitate knowledge sharing among European research institutions, and educate the next generation of experts. TREASURE contributes to European climate goals and sustainable energy by promoting technologies with low emissions and high safety standards.
Attending the TREASURE GFR Summer School offers a unique opportunity to gain new knowledge of GFR and other advanced reactors, visit state-of-the-art research facilities in Řež and Pilsen, and build connections with experts from across Europe.
