The second year of our successful seminar Concrete Days took place at ÚTIA AV ČR on Wednesday, 26 November 2025. It focused on topics related to concrete and aggregate usage in nuclear industry with emphasis on testing and analyses of irradiated concrete.
Through nine presentations by experts from Czech Republic and abroad, participants have gotten insight into current concrete research and development, learned about the influence of neutron gamma rays on concrete and share the approach of CEZ towards controlled concrete ageing. Discussions have also revolved about non-destructive and destructive concrete testing, inorganic geopolymers for nuclear industry and about projects focusing on related issues; institutional support, TAČR, H2020 ACES and international consortium problematics of the effect of radiation on concrete structures (CIC).
Concrete Days 2025 again showed the importance of connecting research with practical industrial needs and cooperation between institutions, both in Czechia and abroad.
